Job summary
An Estates Painter / Decorator plays a key role in the Estates Maintenance Services delivery. The individual will support the Estates maintenance team in the delivery of work that is both of a routine and non-routine nature. This will include managing painting programmes that will contribute to the Trust's objectives, carried out in a safe, cost-effective, efficient manner and compliant with legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTM), and good practice.
Main duties of the job
1. Carry out internal and external painting and decorating requirements within Scunthorpe General and Goole District Hospitals.
2. Be appointed to named competent roles in keeping with requirements laid down in Hospital Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health and Safety documentation.
3. Support the Team Leader and project manager with the implementation of planned, reactive, and routine maintenance.
4. Be responsible for the implementation and sign-off of documentation along with asset management and technical support for the Estate across all trades according to competence and skill level, as allocated by the Team Leader and Estates Managers.
5. Complete data entry into paper and electronic systems (e.g., job dockets, asset management details, time sheets, stock sheets).
6. Have a good general education and experience of engineering trades and undertake on-the-job training or other training as required.

Person Specification
Essential
* Level 3 / CITB Craft Certificate in Painting / Decorating
* Experience relevant to the role and willingness to attain a formal qualification
* Level 2 English & Maths or effective spoken English and numeracy skills
Desirable
* Knowledge of NHS procedures for hospital site maintenance
* Knowledge of Trust policies, health and safety legislation, such as Medical Gas, Ventilation
* ONC / HNC level in painting and decorating
Experience

* Ability to plan and work independently, managing own activities
* Ability to interpret H&S legislation and requirements accurately
