The Senior Tech Business Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between external and internal vendors and will understand any changes on the vendor side that could have impact. The Senior BA will understand the vendor side change, analyse the impact and work with other internal stakeholders to make changes as needed to ensure the overall stability of Citi’s golden source of reference data.
The overall objective of this role is to contribute to the continuous development of a strategic data application within the ISG (Information Services Group).
In this role you will work on a best-in-class system that acts as the strategic source for high quality Securities Reference data across the enterprise, enhancing its capabilities and data in line with business and regulatory requirements. By joining the Security Master Central (SMC) team, you will work with the latest technologies and interact with stakeholders from across the bank, enabling Citi to succeed in delivering value for our clients, while playing a key role in our data governance and data quality strategy. Our partners are teams across the full trade lifecycle, ensuring a wide-ranging variety of projects. This will ensure that the role will continue to positively challenge you; however, you will meet and outpace this challenge due to an excellent support structure and multitude of training opportunities available.
Responsibilities:
* Developing and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors.
* Researching and implementing industry/vendor software migration projects.
* Monitoring and interpreting communications from multiple vendor sources on market and vendor data changes.
* Analyzing the impact of market and vendor-driven changes on SMC application and Citi business.
* Proposing solutions, if needed, to ensure that market and vendor-driven changes are accurately reflected on the SMC application.
* Alerting the appropriate SMC stakeholders and working with users to ensure smooth outcomes of market and vendor-driven changes.
* Utilizing knowledge of software development lifecycle procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code.
* Deriving test cases and testing system component changes through testing environments to ensure solutions accurately reflect vendor management analysis.
* Analyzing large sets of product reference data across various securities from different sources.
* Consulting with users and clients to troubleshoot complex system issues through in-depth evaluation of business processes and systems.
* Fostering communication between business leaders and IT stakeholders to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information clearly and logically.
* Acting as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
* Advising or coaching new or lower-level analysts and working as a team to improve delivery efficiency, performing other duties as assigned.
* Assessing risk when making business decisions, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, and managing control issues transparently.
Qualifications:
* Relevant experience with knowledge of financial markets is advantageous.
* Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor delivery to the audience.
* Proven problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.
* Experience in data analysis and knowledge of databases.
* SQL knowledge is essential.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively across levels, regions, and functions.
* Ability to operate with limited supervision, exercising judgment and autonomy.
* Experience in partner management and influencing skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Excel.
* Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and applicable business systems and standards.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
