The Role
A requirement has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering a major water and utilities framework, operating from the Brighton offices. This is a key role that will involve taking a lead on the commercial management of a portfolio of civils and utilities schemes, ensuring robust cost control and providing strategic commercial support to project teams.
Responsibilities

Lead on the commercial delivery of allocated projects, ensuring profitability and compliance.

Prepare, review, and agree applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.

Take ownership of subcontract procurement, management, and change control processes.
*
Provide accurate forecasting, CVRs, and detailed financial reports to senior management.
*
Ensure contracts are administered in accordance with NEC requirements.
*
Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
*
Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks while maximising opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
*
Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
*
Strong knowledge and application of NEC contracts.
*
A track record of successfully managing the commercial function on multi-disciplinary projects.
*
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
*
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work across multiple live projects.
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field is preferred.
