If you answered yes to these questions, then we encourage you to apply for this Consultant Psychiatrist position at the Community Mental Health Service - Older Persons (CMHSOP) based in Sittingbourne, Kent.As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment for people over 65 in Swale. You will offer diagnosis, treatment, and therapy for a variety of mental health conditions, and participate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.Successful applicants will ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent and be on, or within six months of inclusion on, the Specialist Register. You will be fully registered with the GMC, and have Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months of appointment).As well as a Recruitment Bonus of £15,000and financial support for relocation of up to £8,000, we are proud to offer flexible working opportunities as part of our new ways of working.
Main duties of the job
5. Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment for people over 65 in Swale.
6. Offer diagnosis,treatment,and therapy for various mental health conditions.
7. Participate in multidisciplinary teams,including RED Board and referral triage meetings.
8. Provide senior medical input and advice to complex and risky patients.
9. Lead case discussions and support team performance.
10. Influence future service development and support strategic plans.

Job responsibilities
It is envisaged that the post holder will work 10 programmed activities (PA) over 5 days. The postholder will join the Consultant on-call rota. This is currently remunerated with 3% Category A supplement and 0.5 PA in addition to 10 PA sessions. Part time or job-share applications are welcome.
