There is an exciting opportunity to join us in a role that is vital to our success. We are looking for an Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager to join our Safety team.
The role of Occupational Health & Wellbeing Manager is to manage the approach to occupational health and wellbeing activities, providing assurance relating to effective occupational health management, leading health and wellbeing promotion activities, and working with routes / regions / functions to deliver Network Rail’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
This is a 12-month secondment opportunity
About the role (External)
Role and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
1. Act as the focal point for day-to-day management of occupational health and wellbeing, monitoring compliance with Network Rail occupational health and wellbeing policies and procedures.
2. Work with other stakeholders, especially the central Health and Wellness Strategy team, to develop and implement the health and wellbeing improvement plan, addressing local health requirements aligned with Network Rail’s Integrated Plan.
3. Identify health and wellbeing training needs for line managers and other health-related roles, collaborating with partners to fulfill these needs.
4. Lead occupational health and wellbeing initiatives across the route/region/function and nationally in areas of expertise.
5. Manage the collection of health and wellbeing data to support informed decision-making at local and national levels.
6. Support the management and continuous improvement of third-party occupational health services in collaboration with HR and central health strategy teams.
7. Maintain relevant skills and knowledge to address current and emerging health risks as part of professional development.
Are you?
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) or MSc/BSc in Occupational Health or OH Diploma/certificate.
* Relevant clinical occupational health expertise to assess health needs of the business unit.
* Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively.
* Effective communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Resilience in an occupational health environment to handle demanding situations.
Do you have?
* Additional qualifications and experience in health areas such as cardiovascular disease, workplace cancer, mental health, musculoskeletal conditions, or vocational rehabilitation.
* Experience managing third-party occupational health services.
* Experience in the railway or similar industry.
* Experience with customer interface, including training, presenting health data, and auditing clinical performance or service delivery.
