THIS IS A FIXED TERM POST FOR 9 MONTHS DUE TO MATERNITY LEAVE

To support the Bowel Screening Wales service we are seeking to appoint a temporary administrative and clerical assistant for a period of 9 months to cover maternity leave.

The role involves being part of the multidisciplinary team delivering the highest standards of evidence based care.

We offer a supportive working environment. You will need to work flexibly within the team which provides a 7 day service across Singleton and Morriston Hospital.

Admin and clerical assistance for the Bowel Screening Wales service at Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Booking patients for appointments.

Preparing letters.

Answering telephone calls.

Preparing documentation for SSP team.

Updating g electronic systems.

Essential criteria

1. Experience of admin and clerical role.
2. Knowledge of medical terminology anatomical and physiological terms.
3. Evidence of secondary education to GCSE level.
4. NVQ level 3 or equivalant experience or working towards.
5. Understanding of endoscopy procedures being able to explain to patients and relatives the preparation for procedures.

Desirable criteria

6. Experience of working in health care setting
7. Ability to travel between sites
8. Welsh language skills desirable but not essential
9. Ability to bring an alternative perspective to the administrative perspective to the workings of the service.
10. Knowledge of EMS endoscopy system
