Mott MacDonald Bentley is a fully integrated design and build business combining the design expertise of Mott MacDonald with the contracting experience of JN Bentley to deliver award winning projects. The business has secured a new framework with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water that will last up to eight years, covering projects across the DCC region including clean and wastewater treatment sites, below ground assets, reservoirs and nature-based solutions. The presence in Wales continues to grow, directly employing over 270 colleagues in the country across all roles.

You will contribute to projects that significantly impact the environment and communities. Working primarily in the UK water market, MMB provides feasibility, design, construction and commissioning services to keep water flowing and wastewater treated. You’ll work on projects that make a real difference by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems.


Responsibilities

* Prepare and review designs for schemes to ensure they are fit for purpose and compliant with current legislation and standards. You will work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution systems, cabling, instrumentation, industrial networks, PLCs and SCADA. Systems may be new technology or existing legacy installations.
* Produce and review technical specifications and procurement schedules; review supplier tender bids and technical submissions.
* Understand, apply and contribute to design standards in line with Client and industry standards.
* Challenge Client specifications as needed and present/defend solutions to complex problems.
* Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including development and implementation of standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools.
* Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams.
* Manage interfaces and integration of the electrical design with other disciplines and produce associated documentation.
* Collaborate with other engineers, specialists, clients and project teams to develop fit-for-purpose solutions.
* Work closely with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design, construction and beyond.
* Supervise and mentor Graduates and Engineers to develop knowledge and skills.
* Engage with the client, manage relationships and support a one-team approach to achieving aims.
* Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.


What You Can Offer

* Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE) or equivalent experience.
* Experience with water or wastewater projects, including non-infrastructure or infrastructure projects.
* Experience delivering high-quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
* Ability to deliver results within short timeframes, prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.
