We are recruiting for a Medical Receptionist who will be responsible for reception and administration within the Medical Practice.
Responsibilities
* Greeting patients in person and on telephone, making and cancelling appointments.
* Update patients computer records as directed.
* Liaising with various agencies where required to provide repeat prescriptions when authorised.
* Coordinate patient appointments, hospital letters etc with staff members to ensure procedures are effective.
* Ordering ambulances and booking interpreting services and secondary care appointments as directed by the GP.
* Process incoming & outgoing mail.
* Other administrative & customer care duties as directed by the surgery management.
Skills and Qualifications
* 4 GCSEs grade A-C including Maths & English or equivalent or NVQ Level 2 Customer Care or equivalent or 1 year's recent relevant experience.
* Ability to work alone and in a team.
* Flexibility to cover sickness & holidays.
* Working within a GP surgery advantageous however full training will be given.
* Experience in a customer care role.
