Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a caring, committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team supporting students aged 7-19 with an autism diagnosis. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering a highly rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
You will be working closely with teaching staff and specialist professionals to support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism
Support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
Assist with differentiated curriculum delivery across primary and secondary age ranges
Implement behaviour support and sensory strategies as directed
Promote positive behaviour, independence and social skills
Support personal care where required
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with autism
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A flexible and proactive attitude
A genuine passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs
A valid Child and Adult workforce DBS on update service or willing to apply
Relevant qualifications in education, care or SEN are desirable but not essential
