40 hours per week. Week 1: Monday to Friday 0600‑1400. Week 2: Monday to Friday 1300‑2100.
Hourly Rate of Pay
£12.21 per hour (weekends and bank holiday shifts are out of contract and offered at enhanced rates). Note: the position is compliant with the UK minimum wage.

Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a Corporate Security Officer who can provide an excellent standard of customer services to staff, clients and visitors in a wide variety of settings and situations within a Local Government Authority environment.
The successful candidate will primarily be on duty to protect our clients' property, people and/or assets by providing corporate security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes, delivering results that meet and/or exceed the key performance indicators / service level agreements for the customer through full responsibility and accountability.
Successful candidates will also be expected to undertake additional training for continuous self‑development.
Main Duties
Operations
* Ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements at the direction of the Account Head of Security and in accordance with UK law.
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions.
* Proactively review the published Assignment Instructions, familiarising oneself with any changes and suggesting additional amendments that will improve or enhance service levels.
* Comply with industry and statutory legislation, including obtaining a front‑line licence in Door Supervision and a CCTV PSS S‑I‑A licence, and completing any additional courses required by contract.
* Follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority and work systematically and orderly.
* Cover duties such as patrols, front of house, control room/CCTV and incident management.
Training
* Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
* Take additional training to ensure continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge through continual professional development.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Look out for and immediately report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site.
* Stay alert to threats or changes within the work environment and take appropriate action to reduce risk.
* Use common sense and initiative by involving others if a situation appears threatening.
* Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and with challenging customers.
* Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident for the incident reporting process.
* Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are performed at the allocated time slot as stipulated in the Assignment Instructions.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report all incidents.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous security experience desirable.
* SIA Licence in Door Supervision essential.
* SIA Licence in CCTV desirable.
* Ability to communicate well with internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service.
* Competent computer literacy and willingness to learn specific IT platforms.
* Excellent report writing skills.
