We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our specialist team, working on equipment used in hazardous areas. You’ll design and deliver electrical solutions across material handling - predominantly fork lift trucks - and power systems, supporting both bespoke customer projects and new product development. What you’ll do as Electrical Design Engineer * Assessment of diesel engine control systems to enable the hazardous area protection systems to be integrated onto the engine for both ATEX and IEC Ex compliance for both on shore and off shore applications. * Component selection for integration into original machine electrical systems. * Define protection concepts for gas and dust hazardous areas. * Apply Pyroban gas detection systems. * Produce project specs, design documents and AutoCAD Electrical drawings. * Design components for tight spaces and harsh environments. * Specify Ex‑certified traction batteries. * Define enclosure layouts and population. * Support testing, compliance and certification documentation. * Work on new product development and customer‑d...
