Audio visual licensing executive

Swindon
National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty
€27,500 a year

Offer description

We’re looking for an Audio Visual Licensing Executive to join our Audio Visual team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in enabling people to access, reuse and be inspired by one of the UK’s largest and most respected collections of audio visual content. You’ll balance great customer service with informed decision‑making, helping to protect our brand, manage risk and generate income through the licensing of images, video and audio. Working with a wide range of internal and external audiences, you’ll ensure assets are used responsibly and in line with our charitable purpose, while supporting compelling storytelling that brings places, people and history to life.

This is a part‑time role, with a working pattern of three days per week.

What it's like to work here

You’ll be part of the Audio‑Visual team which supports marketing, communications and commercial activity across the organisation. The team manages a fast‑paced, high‑demand digital asset service used by thousands of people every year, from colleagues and volunteers to publishers, media organisations and production companies. You’ll work closely with specialist teams including Brand Protection, Film Office, Collections, and Loans & Acquisitions, contributing to a joined‑up approach where expertise is shared and valued.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40‑60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of a large and growing digital asset library, acting as the primary contact for rights queries, asset access and licensing requests. This will include reviewing and assessing usage requests, applying internal policies alongside GDPR and copyright legislation, and making informed, independent decisions in the best interests of the organisation. You’ll negotiate and process commercial licences, contributing to income generation, while ensuring appropriate access for non‑commercial and academic use. You’ll also provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and external clients, championing the audio‑visual library as a trusted, go‑to resource.

In addition, you’ll analyse system data and prepare reports on asset usage, customer behaviour and sales trends to inform service improvements and future strategy.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the attached document.

* Knowledge of GDPR in relation to images and video
* Strong sales and negotiation skills
* Experience in using databases

* Ability to work as part of a team

* Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
* Free entry to National Trust places for you, a guest and your children (under 18)

* EV car lease scheme (for roles that meet the salary criteria)
* Perks at work discounts such as gym memberships, shopping discount codes, cinema discounts
* Holiday allowance up to 32 days relating to length of service, plus holiday purchase scheme, subject to meeting minimum criteria.

Closing Date: 24 May 2026
