Tradewind Recruitment is working with SEMH schools across North Lincolnshire that are seeking reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join them on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis starting September 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs, who is looking to build a career in education.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising whole classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay on task, with a focus on supporting SEMH students
Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies, employing strategies effective with SEMH students
Delivering pre-prepared work and ensuring learning continues smoothly, adapting as needed for students with SEMH
Providing feedback to teachers and school leaders on student progress and conduct, highlighting any specific SEMH considerations
Supporting students across a range of year groups and subjects, with a particular focus on their social, emotional, and mental health needsIdeal candidates will have:
Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting or with individuals with SEMH needs (e.g., in schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring)
A confident and professional approach to classroom management, with an understanding of positive behaviour strategies for SEMH students
Excellent communication skills and a calm, positive, and patient attitude, particularly when working with students with complex needs
A strong interest in education and a passion for supporting the holistic development of SEMH students - ideal for those considering a future in teaching or specialist support roles
