About The Role

Join our vibrant Music and Performing Arts Department as a Skills Practitioner at EKC Canterbury College!

In this exciting and hands-on role, you’ll support both staff and students by delivering high-quality technical and learning assistance in a fast-paced creative environment. You'll play a vital part in shaping student success by contributing to their practical learning experiences, offering constructive feedback, and helping them progress with confidence.

As part of your role, you’ll also carry out assessment and quality assurance duties in line with college and awarding body requirements. You'll liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration across the board. Additionally, you'll manage stock control — including the ordering and distribution of equipment and supplies — to ensure our dynamic department continues to run smoothly.

About You

In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in helping our learners thrive in practical settings, supporting both staff and students in delivering outstanding provision.

What you’ll be doing:

* Supporting learners during workshops and sessions, helping them stay focused and on task

* Delivering practical demonstrations to enhance learning and skill development

* Working collaboratively with tutors to create an engaging, high-quality learning environment

* Upholding and promoting robust Health & Safety practices in all practical spaces

* Managing the purchase and organisation of materials and equipment within budget

* Liaising with both internal colleagues and external stakeholders to support student success

What we’re looking for:

* Recent industry experience in drama, dance, music, or other performance-based fields

* A confident communicator with excellent organisational skills

* Ideally, experience in education or training – either in formal teaching or workplace settings

* A positive, student-focused attitude, with the ability to inspire young people to reach their full potential

* A strong alignment with the values and ethos of EKC Group
