Overview

We are looking for a Lead Clinician - Practitioner Psychologist, OT, SLT to manage our in-house Clinical Team at Bluebank School in Derbyshire. The postholder will work collaboratively with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Regional Clinical Lead. The role will be split between clinically leading the team and holding a therapy caseload. You will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for students who may present with complex needs related to autism and other neurodivergence, developmental trauma, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Meeting the needs of EHCP plans will be a primary focus, target-led, via OFG All, group and individual clinical approaches embedded in our practice. You will coordinate line management of the onsite clinical team and lead the service development of the school-based clinical service with the school SLT and Regional Clinical Lead.


Location

Bluebank School, Derbyshire S41 8LQ. Bluebank School forms part of our Acorn Education brand and is an independent specialist day school for young people aged 11–16.


Essential Criteria

* Doctorate or BPS stage 2 qualification – must be a registered psychologist and HCPC registered.
* Valid and up-to-date professional registration & membership of a professional body (e.g., BPS).
* Experience with autistic individuals and/or those with complex needs.
* Clear and concise report writing related to clinical and research activities.
* Experience in providing supervision and supporting a therapy team.
* Ability to work independently and adapt within a growing clinical service.
* Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated specialty (preferred).
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.


Responsibilities

* Lead and manage the on-site clinical team and contribute to service development of the school-based clinical service.
* Deliver bespoke assessments and interventions for pupils with complex needs to support independence and progress in education.
* Collaborate with the SLT and Regional Clinical Lead to align practice with EHCP targets and organisational pathways.
* Maintain safeguarding, promote pupil-centred practice, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
* Support growth of colleagues, apprentices, students, and therapy assistants through supervision and development opportunities.

Contract and Hours

Salary: £50,000–£60,000 FTE (DOE). Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday. Contract: Permanent (term-time only or flexible around a full-time contract can be discussed based on circumstances).
