Job overview / Introduction

We are looking for talented Data Analysts and Cost Modelers to join our team. Possessing a track record in the delivery of cost and data analysis to support strategic and operational improvements within complex organsiations. Ideally with demonstrable experience across Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, or Infrastructure markets, the candidate will have previously focused on providing insights to improve Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operational capabilities.

The role will typically report to a Consulting Manager and is responsible for the provision of independent expert insights to help identify and solve analytical challenges, increase value, and maximise business efficiency and profitability. Using established processes whilst working with the client’s senior team and support staff, the role will assist in the creation of decision-support products, cost and financial models, analysis, insights and recommendations to meet client needs.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities


Engagement Delivery

* Understand and help project teams to apply a range of analytical methods, advise on the choice and application of techniques, and critique findings to assure best practice.
* Build and review complex data models, use data integration tools and languages to integrate and store data, and advise teams on best practice.
* Apply standards and best practices to present, communicate, and disseminate data appropriately, using a range of data visualisation tools and techniques.
* Advocate data governance standards within products and services, ensuring quality and consistency and supporting the use of common toolsets to ensure good data management practices.
* Understand and apply a range of statistical and analytic practices, developing deeper knowledge in a narrower range of specialisms.
* Support the wider engagement team in the delivery of consulting outputs and outcomes where applicable.
* Ensure high client satisfaction through effective stakeholder management, communication, and support in the timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, establishing a reputation as a trusted advisor.


People Responsibilities

* Take responsibility for their own development, ensuring their skills and technical abilities encompass the latest delivery techniques.
* Foster knowledge sharing and best practices across the business.
* Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals for all direct reports.
* Lead, coach and mentor team members.
* Contribute to effective working in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where individuals are recognised for their contribution.


Internal Responsibilities

* Support in the wider development of capabilities, products, and services
* Share knowledge of data and technology with the wider team and external stakeholders, including tools and techniques, to enable a skill increase across the wider team and to assist clients with their use any tools created for them.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and the wider competitive landscape.
* Support in the development of thought leadership initiatives (i.e., articles, white papers, industry events)
* Adhere to Squarcle policies and processes.


Secondary Roles and Responsibilities

* Commit to continuous development by supporting the organisation of team events, training sessions, and recruitment activities.
* Perform other duties as specified by the Manager.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Essential)

* Three years or more experience designing and delivering analytical and digital solutions to solve business problems and create enduring value for clients.
* Strong data modelling and analysis skills, including critical thinking, analytical, innovation, and a creative mindset.
* Well-developed core consulting skills, with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and to creatively solve client issues.
* Intellectual curiosity, exceptional people skills, and a strong work ethic.
* Ability to be self-directed and be a core contributor to the team, supporting and developing our capabilities.
* Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite; specifically, Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
* BSc/BA in a numerate or analytical field or an equivalent professional qualification


Knowledge, Skills and Experience (Desirable)

* Previous experience gained within a recognised Management Consulting or Internal Consulting function.
* Low-Code technology experience (e.g., Microsoft PowerApps)
* Cloud technology qualifications (AWS/Azure preferably)
* An understanding of the Aerospace & Defence, MOD, Nuclear or Infrastructure markets
