We are looking for an experienced midwife with enthusiasm for delivering high quality women centred care, to join our team of Delivery Suite Coordinators.
The Delivery Suite coordinator has responsibility for the organisation of workload within the department promoting high quality of care for both high and low risk women. In addition you will provide leadership, act as a mentor across the service and promote positive multidisciplinary team working.
Harrogate is a high performing maternity unit and we are seeking highly motivated individuals to contribute and develop the delivery of high quality, evidence-based midwifery.
Main duties of the job
* Co-ordinate services to ensure that the individual needs of mothers and babies and their families are met.
* To provide care support and advice to women and their families throughout the intrapartum and immediate post natal period in accordance with the Midwives Rules and Standards (2012)
* To be a clinical role model demonstrating expert clinical practice whilst providing support and advice for less experienced midwives and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Implement programmes of care, which contributes to the care and education of women and members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Complete all records to the recognised standard so that they comply with regulations laid down by the Trust and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The practitioner is expected to ensure that their own clinical practice and that of the other staff on each shift, within the area of practice is of a safe standard and in accordance with the unit policies.
You will be expected to participate in a hospital on call Rota for escalation in high acuity. Working pattern includes days, nights and weekends. Flexible working will also be considered.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* NMC registration
* Diploma/degree level or equivalent with evidence of further professional development.
* Provide evidence of personal and professional development.
* Mentor preparation course.
Desirable criteria
* Neonatal and Infant Physical Examination qualification.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience as a qualified midwife with recent experience on Delivery Suite
* Evidence of completion of a successful preceptorship package
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of clinical governance and risk assessment.
* Extended” midwifery skills; IV cannulation, perineal suturing, IV drug administration, CTG interpretation
* An understanding of safe staffing and effective skill mix
Desirable criteria
* Experience in complaints management
