Caretaker (with cleaning responsibilities)
37 hours per week, split shift (6.00am–9.30am, Monday to Friday and 2.00pm–6.00pm Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm–5.30pm Friday). Actual hours can be negotiated.
About the role
The Governors at Hursthead Infant School wish to appoint a motivated individual who is highly organised, proactive, flexible and prides themselves on meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
* Work flexibly with colleagues within a strong team
* Communicate positively and effectively with children, staff, parents and contractors
* Meet constant challenges with determination, and resilience
* Organise and prioritise their own workload
* Be pro-active and contribute to wider school life
* Securing the site and operating systems such as intruder and fire alarms
* Cleaning to a high standard
* General maintenance duties and minor repairs
* Key holder responsibilities
* Effective communication with the school team and liaison with contractors
* Accurate and effective record keeping
* Preparation/set up of school events including out of hours meetings and performances
Working arrangements
There will be a requirement to work late on certain evenings to accommodate school events as well as to respond to emergency call outs in unsociable hours. We are happy to discuss flexible working with the right candidate.
