Responsibilities: We own and evolve the enterprise application and data architecture across Flex and Wilton, including principles, patterns, roadmaps, and reference designs. We set standards for API-first design, integration, quality, security, and lifecycle management. We chair and participate in technical steering and design reviews, making platform and tooling decisions that balance cost, risk, scalability, and delivery speed. We govern change control for applications and integrations to ensure traceability, compliance, and minimal business risk. We lead the transformation and support of on-premises and legacy applications into modern, cloud-native solutions on Azure. We retire redundant systems, simplify the application estate, and maintain and resolve bugs and issues with legacy applications to support business continuity. We embed DevOps and CI/CD, containerisation, infrastructure as code, and automated testing. We introduce performance, reliability, and cost guardrails, including SLAs and budgets, for all platforms. We own the operational data strategy, including consolidating repositories and historians, defining metadata, lineage, retention, and access controls, and ensuring data quality and trustworthy analytics. We architect secure data pipelines and reusable APIs for real-time and historical access. We standardise patterns for ingestion, validation, cataloguing, and reporting. We lead multidisciplinary technical, engineering, support, and QA resources using Agile/Scrum. We plan sprints, remove blockers, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement. We mentor developers, run peer reviews, and enforce coding standards and secure-by-design practices. We establish organisation-wide monitoring, alerting, and incident response using Azure Monitor and Application Insights. We act as escalation for production issues. We manage platform SLAs, vendor relationships, and corporately brokered contracts. We ensure compliance with internal standards and audit requirements.
