Band 6 Senior Data Analyst Location: Franklin Street Pay Per Hour: £19.10 Working Hours : 37.5 hrs MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES Lead on process, quality assurance and validation initiatives; the development and implementation of innovative solutions in line with developing business needs. Use judgement and experience to promote and encourage data quality improvement throughout Payroll and to advise on data capture and data collection issues. Design, development and modification of reporting-related solutions. Undertake database analysis, including problem solving using advanced functions and complex methodology. Ensure that all systems are documented to the appropriate level and that the documentation is maintained and up to date. Maintain and develop, as appropriate, the delivery of information and datasets in line with Service Level Agreements with customers or as deemed appropriate by management. Identify, investigate, develop and implement computer automated procedures throughout all areas of Payroll. Document and disseminate all development and information production, ensuring that all procedures comply with the controls assurance framework and meet audit requirements. Present to and train staff on any new systems development to ensure that all such systems and procedures are fully understood and implemented. Provide direction, guidance and feedback to line manager and team members, both internal and external to Payroll. Be aware of, identify and manage risk as required and be aware of Payroll risk management processes including the risk register. Work with software suppliers in the development and implementation of solutions and ensure appropriate performance standards are met. Record adequate information to enable the audit and validation of reported requirements and ensure equity in the provision of services. Ensuring that all appropriate processing and information deadlines are met. Maintaining a working knowledge of the relevant legislation and regulations affecting Payroll. Contribute to the strategic management and development of the service, Analyse, investigate and resolve complaints received by PSC. Contribute to recruitment and selection of staff as necessary. Support the implementation of all audit recommendations and identify risks to delivery of service in line with assurance requirements. To take responsibility for his/her own performance and take action to address identified personal development areas. To manage the performance of staff under their control to ensure achievement of SLA targets whilst maintaining staff morale. Monitor and review staffing levels to ensure adequate provision of service. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA University degree or equivalent recognised qualification in a computer science discipline or a degree with a substantial computing/data management. Ideally have working experience using Microsoft Excel.
