Preston Muslim Girls High School is looking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated Subject Lead in Religious Studies to lead and further develop our Religious Studies provision.
As Subject Lead, you will bring energy, vision and enthusiasm to inspire both pupils and colleagues, fostering a deep appreciation and understanding of Religious Studies across all key stages. You will be responsible for leading the planning, delivery and evaluation of Religious Studies in line with curriculum requirements, ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning.
You will play a key role in shaping curriculum development, monitoring pupil progress, raising attainment, and supporting staff within the department. Working collaboratively with the senior leadership team and wider faculty, you will drive forward improvements to sustain and raise achievement to an outstanding level.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, alongside excellent leadership and organisational skills, and a clear commitment to promoting high expectations and academic excellence.
They will deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across all key stages in line with the Lancashire Agreed Syllabus, fostering pupils’ understanding of religious belief, practice, and ethical thought within a richly diverse and faith-centred environment.
At Key Stage 4, you will teach and lead the AQA GCSE Religious Studies specification. Pupils study:
Islam and Christianity – beliefs, teachings, and practices
Thematic Studies – exploring a range of philosophical, ethical, and social issues through focused units of study
