The opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of a Senior HCSW to support children with complex health care needs. You will work in the community, at home or at school to provide practical nursing care for a child with specific healthcare needs and others presenting with a range of complex healthcare conditions including life‑limiting/life‑threatening conditions. The post holder will be required to be caring, compassionate, committed and ambitious to the team, able to work well on their own initiative and within a small team, and work unsocial hour’s shifts and a mixture of days and nights.
* Deliver individualised care with parents of children with complex care needs under supervision of a Registered Nurse and support the wider team of health professionals working in continuing care.
* Work well on own initiative and within a small team; be prepared for primarily unsociable hours and nights.
* Previous experience caring for a child who requires long‑term care in the community is desirable, although full training will be supported by the service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
