Working under the direction of the GP partners and to work as part of a multidisiplianry team, the post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture, ECGs and simple injections under PSDs. In addition to this, administrative tasks such as stock re-ordering and audits maybe required.
Main duties of the job
* Obtaining Patient consent for the collection of bloods samples.
* Performing venepuncture in accordance with practice protocols.
* Maintain accurate patient records on the clinical system.
* The correct labelling, packing and storing of samples.
* Ensuring samples are sent to the laboratory in a timely manner.
* Maintaining an effective liaison with the laboratory staff.
* Working collaboratively with the clinical team and seeking guidance when necessary for patient related matters.
* Perform ECGs
* Carry out simple injections under PSDs

Our team has 3 GP partners, who are supported by our Practice Nurse, Clinical Pharmacist, Mental Health Practitioners and a strong admin team, we are also a training practice.

Person Specification
Experience
* Good Communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Ability to work well in a team
* Good time management
* Good understanding of Information Governance
* Able to work in a busy environment and be adaptable
* Confident to work independently
* Experience of working in Primary Care
Qualifications
* Must have previous phlebotomy experience
* Previous Primary Care working environment.
