Production Shift Manager
Huddersfield
Monday – Friday, days/afters
£42,000 - £48,000
Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to once again be supporting a global specialist manufacturer in Huddersfield to recruit a Production Shift Manager. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a fast-paced business and take charge of driving productivity, quality, H&S and continuous improvement across the shift.
Key Responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager include:
* Lead and motivate production teams to achieve daily and long-term operational targets
* Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification, quality standards and efficiency levels
* Monitor performance data and drive improvements using KPIs
* Analyse downtime and work closely with Maintenance to improve equipment performance
* Manage labour planning to meet production schedules while controlling costs
* Provide clear communication and effective handovers between shifts
* Take full responsibility for health and safety on shift, ensuring compliance with policies
* Develop, coach and upskill your team
* Manage performance, absence, training and all 1st line management responsibilities
* Ensure quality systems are followed and maintain an audit-ready environment
* Investigate quality issues and implement preventative improvements
* Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the shift
We’re looking for Production Shift Managers with the below skills & experience:
* Experienced in managing large teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Confident developing and coaching individuals to reach their full potential
* IOSH Managing Safely qualified (or similar)
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety standards and continuous improvement methodologies
* Comfortable working with ERP systems and production data
* A clear communicator who can balance strategic thinking with reactive decision-making
* Commercially aware, proactive and decisive
* A natural leader who takes ownership, drives standards and leads by example
This is a full-time, shift-based role requiring flexibility and occasional overtime to ensure business continuity.
