Relationship Director
I’ve partnered with a well-established, regulated social bank with a strong national presence, providing specialist lending and deposit solutions to charities, housing associations and other not-for-profit (NFP) organisations. As part of their continued regional growth strategy, they are now seeking a Relationship Director to cover the Midlands region.
Operating exclusively within the social and ethical banking space, this organisation partners with social enterprises, charities, and values-led organisations to provide lending, savings and investment solutions that deliver tangible community impact.
This is a remote-first role, offering genuine regional ownership and autonomy, with regular travel across the Midlands to meet clients and develop new relationships.
The Role
Reporting into senior regional leadership, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-quality portfolio across the Midlands.
You will:
* Originate and convert new secured lending opportunities
* Manage and develop an existing regional portfolio
* Build and maintain relationships with charities, housing associations and other NFP clients
* Identify broader banking opportunities across deposits and savings
* Structure and assess property-backed lending proposals in line with credit risk appetite
* Present lending cases internally and engage confidently with credit stakeholders
Essential Experience
* Proven background in commercial banking, specialist lending or relationship management
* Strong understanding of credit risk and lending processes
* Demonstrable experience originating and converting new business
* Ability to analyse client needs and structure appropriate financial solutions
* Sound commercial judgement and the ability to navigate complex client situations with professionalism and integrity
* Willingness to travel across the Midlands
Desirable
* Experience working with charities, social enterprises or purpose-led organisations
* Existing Midlands network within professional services, third sector or impact-led sectors
* Exposure to deposit or investment conversations alongside lending
