Salary: Our Shift Leader rate of pay starts from £14.76 per hour, increasing to £15.97 per hour for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. If you’d prefer to work fewer hours (minimum 12), there are opportunities available and we’d love to hear from you.
Availability and scheduling
We’d like you to be available at the following times. We will schedule your contracted hours within these windows and provide three weeks’ notice of exact shift times. If your available times are close but not exact to those advertised, we’d still love to hear from you.

* Mon 15:00-24:00
* Tue 17:00-24:00
Customers
Customers are at the heart of everything we do.
As a Shift Leader you’ll oversee store operations from the shop floor, support colleagues and customers, and help keep the store running smoothly. You’ll face interesting challenges and work to improve service for customers, colleagues and communities every day.
Responsibilities
* Work in a fast-paced retail environment with variety
* Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that exceeds customer expectations
* Be there for customers, listening and ensuring they leave with what they came for
* Identify opportunities to improve service, coaching colleagues and giving feedback
* Guide and support colleagues to maintain a safe in-store environment
* Monitor store performance and assist managers in implementing actions to improve operations
* Lead from the front and set a positive example for the team
Eligibility: You must be 18 or over to apply for this role.
You’ll be responsible for
* Coordinating the store team to deliver an easy, fuss-free shopping experience for customers
* Supporting colleagues to deliver daily priorities and take regular breaks
* Opening and closing the store and completing duty cover with safety in mind
* Being the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of a manager for day-to-day queries
* Keeping the store clean, tidy and well-presented
* Supporting managers to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events
* Contributing to a positive team atmosphere that is inclusive of everyone
* Providing great customer service by listening to customers and putting them first
* Keeping the team informed of communications, changes or updates
* Staying knowledgeable about store performance and looking for ways to improve operations
* Coordinating store improvements and removing obstacles to service
* Following health and safety routines and ensuring colleagues do the same
* Recognising and celebrating colleagues for providing great service
You’ll need
* Be a great role model by delivering thoughtful customer service to meet customers’ needs

* Be comfortable taking the lead and overseeing the store in the absence of the Manager
