As a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will play a crucial role in this initiative, dedicated to delivering an outstanding banking experience to our customers. You will work in a collaborative environment as part of a diverse, inclusive, and geographically distributed team. We are seeking individuals with a curious mindset and a keen interest in new technology. Our engineers are naturally solution-oriented and possess an interest in the financial sector, focusing on addressing our customer needs. We work in teams focused on building iOS and Android mobile applications, emphasizing design, architecture, and maintenance of build and infrastructure solutions, along with entire SDLC stages. You will liaise with cross-functional teams to drive the future tool landscapes used by the development team.
Job Responsibilities
1. Build solutions that avoid single points of failure, using scalable architectural patterns.
2. Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration to implement reliable build and infrastructure tools.
3. Structure software so that it is easy to understand, test, and evolve.
4. Proactively identify potential issues with build infrastructure, fix issues, and ensure the tool chain is resilient.
5. Identify and implement development requirements in CI tooling using Jenkins declarative pipelines.
6. Identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), generate metrics to assess the efficiency, reliability, and ease of operation of our systems, and drive improvements.
7. Maintain the Continuous Integration (CI) framework (Cloudbees-based) used by all developers in the Front End development team and infrastructure clusters using AWS instances, Docker, and K8s frameworks.
8. Improve the resiliency and developer experience of the Release Management frameworks used by the Front End Team.
9. Conduct thorough testing to ensure robustness and reliability of build infrastructure tools.
10. Lead the migration of SCM/CI tooling to GitHub and Actions.
11. Support the products you've built throughout their lifecycle, including in production and during incident management.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
1. Formal training or certification in continuous integration concepts and advanced experience in this area.
2. Experience managing continuous integration and automation toolchains.
3. Hands-on experience with developing, maintaining, and administering CI systems.
4. Proficiency with declarative pipelines and guiding development teams on infrastructure as code.
5. Experience coding and debugging using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages.
6. Understanding of AWS-based build clusters, including AMI images, EC2 instances, and Auto Scaling Groups.
7. Experience leading projects on migration of SCM and CI tooling, with knowledge of GitHub and Actions.
8. Guidance experience on build systems using tools like Make, CMake, Maven, Xcode, Swift.
9. Ability to prioritize customer needs, even for repetitive tasks.
10. Experience supporting development teams on Linux and Mac platforms.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
1. Experience identifying risks in build toolchains to influence onboarding decisions for new tools.
2. Awareness of build tools used with Android, iOS, or React Native development.
3. Experience with Jenkins or Cloudbees CI systems.
4. Experience supporting build systems using TypeScript.
5. Experience in Release Management and automation-driven improvements.
