What You'll Do
The Civil Engineering Works Supervisor will support the districts' civil engineering team in planning, delivering, and supervising civil engineering construction and maintenance projects. They will work as part of a team to deliver the inspection and maintenance programme of our civil engineering infrastructure assets, such as forest roads, car parks, and bridges, championing our health and safety culture through exercising our value of 'look out and look after' within our engineering work.
The successful candidate will:
* Lead the development of project packages by producing work orders with detailed scope, contract maps, and pre-commencement documentation through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
* Review contractor health and safety paperwork and supervise on-site activities to ensure each project is delivered safely and successfully.
* For larger projects, create robust work packages, including mini-tenders procured through the Civil Engineering Construction Framework.
Championing Safety, Quality, and Engineering Excellence
* Assist the engineering team in fulfilling the Client role under CDM2015, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
* Excel as a NEC4 Site Supervisor by monitoring adherence to the works specification, overseeing quality of works, and ensuring high standards of Health, Safety, and Environment management.
* Lead as a NEC4 Project Manager by assessing and processing compensation events, managing early warnings, and applying appropriate contract mechanisms to achieve success.
Engage Proactively with Stakeholders
* Engage positively with internal teams within the District such as Ecology and Recreation, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of project objectives.
* Externally, engage with contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to support the successful delivery of diverse projects.
The role will include daily travel within the district, and occasional nights away may be required to use time effectively and meet early appointments.

You will support the delivery of Civil Engineering works predominantly in the West side of the Central England District, but as workloads dictate, possibly throughout the district.
