Job Summary
Based in our East Cowes facilities, reporting to the Procurement Operations Manager & Senior Buyer, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with some experience in Purchasing and Supply to join a high-performing, dynamic team and develop a rewarding career within a successful, growing international organization.
This role requires travel to supplier sites, both domestically and internationally (up to 20%).
Job Responsibilities
1. Report on procurement activity and conduct site reviews for assigned Programmes.
2. Communicate daily with internal customers and receiving areas.
3. Interface between programme and commodity management for sourcing and change programmes aligned with group commodity strategy.
4. Support parts/supplier transfers and industrialization (major and minor transfers), including FAI.
5. Implement global/regional agreements within the programme portfolio.
6. Manage transfer of parts from PO to Schedule, including negotiations for moving to consignment/DLF.
7. Place PO demands on suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
8. Handle site procurement change control, export control, and ITAR compliance.
9. Maintain site BOM delivery, maintenance, and integrity.
10. Update and maintain item and contract data.
11. Flow down customer materials, pricing, and forecasts to suppliers.
12. Develop and support site cost reduction and supplier development plans.
13. Manage supplier risk, including financial assessments using templates and Dunn & Bradstreet data.
14. Manage raw material inventory levels aligned with programme targets.
15. Resolve invoice queries related to pricing.
16. Escalate cost/contractual issues to senior management.
17. Support SQE with supplier non-conformance, returns, and claims.
18. Ensure adherence to health and safety policies and procedures.
Job Qualifications
Suitable candidates will demonstrate:
ESSENTIAL:
* Experience in Supply Chain administration, planning, or procurement roles.
* Effective communication skills, able to interact confidently at all levels.
* Intelligence, quick learning ability, and organization skills.
* Problem-solving capabilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
* Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%).
DESIRABLE:
* Degree qualification.
* APICS / MCIPS certification.
* Proficiency in MRP systems.
