Principal Designer/CDM Advisor required to join a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy in Reading. You will work to provide solutions to meet clients’ health and safety objectives, aims and aspirations.\n\nYou will have opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects in the commercial, education, hotel, leisure, residential, retail, science sectors and more. You will be able to work as an individual and as part of a wider team.\n\nThe role requires an in-depth understanding of design and construction processes.
You will have a clear understanding of the legal requirements of the CDM Regulations.\n\nDuties include\nWorking closely with the project team to deliver Principal Designer services ensuring compliance with CDM regulations.\n\nMaking clients aware of their duties.\n\nLiaise with Designers to compile a Design Risk Management schedule.\n\nManaging the pre-construction phase, including preparing and collating information.\n\nLeading CDM Workshops.\n\nLiaising with stakeholders on projects and keeping them updated in relation to Health, Safety and CDM matters.\n\nCarrying out site inspections and compliance audits.\n\nPreparing, reviewing and maintaining Health and Safety files.\n\nDeveloping client relationships and building new ones.\n\nWith support, contribute to and develop bid submissions and fee proposals.\nIdentifying regional business development opportunities generally and assisting with the growth of Client base.\n\nQualifications\n\nNEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar technical or professional qualification\nYou will ideally hold or be working towards CMaPS and possibly CMIOSH Accreditation.\n\nExperience\n\nc3 years’ experience acting as Principal Designer and CDM Advisor.\n\nDemonstrable understanding of design and construction drawings, with experience of undertaking Design Risk Reviews.\n\nThe company are offering £40k-£50k plus pension, life assurance, healthcare and more
