Experienced consultant in economic development responsible for supporting our clients to deliver sustainable growth and regeneration. You will play a key role in managing projects, supporting new business development, and developing our team to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
The Principal Economic Development Consultant will be part of the Economics & Economics Development (EED) Team within AECOM's Buildings and Places business. The team works across sectors including energy, nuclear, transport, water, residential, commercial, and regeneration. We are involved in major infrastructure projects such as High Speed Two, Sizewell C, and the Great Grid Upgrade, and support UK government in developing growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing or contributing technically to projects involving:
2. Impact assessments (social, economic, health) for infrastructure, energy, and development schemes
3. Business case development and option appraisals for regeneration projects
4. Gathering economic evidence to inform spatial development plans for various government levels
5. Delivering consultancy projects from design to delivery and client care
6. Supporting team development and managing financial responsibilities
7. Managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement
8. Supporting business development and proposal preparation
Qualifications and experience required include proven consultancy experience in economic development, knowledge in impact assessment, funding bids, land use planning, and property analysis, strong project management skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in business development.
