Estimator – Refurbishment / Social Housing Projects £50,000 - £70,000 (DOE) Company vehicle / travel allowance 1 Day work from home available Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire We are working with a client that’s seeking an Estimator to join their established team. Working on a variety of public and private refurbishment / social housing projects, with values in excess of £1m to multi-million-pound framework agreements. The successful candidate will have previous exposure to these sectors, and varying levels of Estimating experience will be considered. Working hours are 08:00am – 17:00pm. Benefits: * Company vehicle / travel allowance * 25 Days annual leave bank holidays * 1 Day working from home available after probationary period passed Requirements: * Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as an Estimator * Up to date Health & Safety and Building Legislation knowledge * Ability to use own initiative, excellent time management, organised, strong at problem-solving and ambitious Responsibilities: * Reporting to the Managing Director * Responsible for the financial preparation of bids for the business * Work in partnership with the bid team throughout the pre-construction and bid process * Ensure bids are risk assessed and reported to the directors * Prepare submissions in the agreed format consistent with the company branding * Present submissions to the directors for review * Manage handover of successful bids to the delivery team * Provide feedback and responses for the delivery team to assist with any post tender queries * Preparing the cost components of the proposal, including understanding of the task, planning, assessing past performance and personnel in partnership with the management team * Attend meetings with Client, Designers, Project Managers and relevant stakeholders as required * Attend Site Visits as required * Manage the supply chain to ensure competitive quotes are obtained * Ensure supply chain quotes are checked to ensure compliance with the tender documents * Manage tender clarifications throughout the bid process * Measuring & ‘Taking-Off’ quantities from drawings
