Background
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our successful Public Sector team in an exciting and innovative role. You will work across our Public Sector Financial Reporting team and our Public Sector Financial Reporting and Accounting Support team.
Our Public Sector Financial Reporting team provides training, guidance, technical assistance, and quality assurance to support the UK’s largest public sector external audit practice. Our Public Sector Financial Reporting and Accounting Support service offers direct support to non-audit finance teams facing challenges related to technical accounting, financial reporting, and finance functions.
This role offers the opportunity to utilize your financial reporting and accounting knowledge to support audit teams and public sector organizations.

A look into the role
The manager role involves supporting the quality of audits and assisting clients with major challenges:
FR responsibilities include:
* Review draft public sector financial statements
* Respond to complex financial reporting queries
* Draft internal guidance and training materials
* Present at internal and external events
* Contribute to technical consultations
* Stay updated on professional debates
* Build relationships with audit teams
* Collaborate with Financial Reporting and Audit Quality teams
FRAS responsibilities include:
* Manage non-audit clients
* Solve complex technical issues with clients
* Lead team development and oversight
* Maintain strong client relationships
* Seek continuous improvement and growth opportunities
Knowing you’re right for us
Minimum criteria:
* Professional Accounting qualification (CIPFA, ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA)
* Post-qualification experience in external audit for Local Authorities/Health bodies or within a local government/health finance function
* Strong understanding of IFRS standards and public sector financial reporting
* Project management experience
* Business development experience (beneficial)
