*** Process Quality Engineer ***
Job Description:
Seeking a Process Quality Engineer to be based on-site supporting a customer programme in Wolverhampton, working full-time, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have a strong quality background, experience in product launch and development environments, and the ability to develop inspection plans and optimise inspection methods to support the delivery of high-quality aerospace components.
The support will include:
1. Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and GD&T requirements
2. Developing and reviewing inspection plans, procedures and documentation
3. Supporting Engineering Design Reviews with quality input (inspection feasibility, producibility,
4. Working with engineering, production and specialist teams to resolve technical and quality issues
5. Supporting inspections, investigations and problem analysis during NPI and development phases
6. Highlighting manufacturing and fabrication issues that impact delivery performance
7. Supporting the design of inspection processes, equipment and fixturing
8. Working with the APQP lead and supporting related activities
9. Planning and coordinating MSA studies
10. Assisting with interpretation of manufacturing data to assess process stability and capability
11. Supporting advancement of inspection methods and new technologies
12. Driving a culture of continuous improvement within the NPI team
Experience requirements:
13. Previous experience in a quality-focused role within aerospace or automotive (product development or NPI experience advantageous)
14. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
15. Good knowledge of manual and automated inspection tools (. micrometers, verniers, CMM, vision systems)
16. Experience within an AS9100 quality system and familiarity with AS9102 FAIR requirements
17. Understanding of drafting and modelling practices (ASME Y14.5 advantageous)
18. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment
19. Able to interpret data and support process capability assessments
20. Comfortable using a range of software packages
21. Based within a commutable distance of Wolverhampton
22. Occasional flexibility to work outside core hours subject to business need
