We are working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Preston area that is looking to appoint a caring and committed SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant.
This role will involve providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils within the Early Years setting who have additional needs. You will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and thrive in a nurturing classroom environment.
SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Start Date: 1st September 2026
Contract: Full-time
Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils with Special Educational Needs within the EYFS setting
* Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored support
* Assist with the development of communication, social, and emotional skills
* Implement strategies to support children with needs such as autism, speech & language difficulties, and sensory needs
* Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
* Support daily routines, including play-based and structured learning activities
The Ideal Candidate
* Has experience working within EYFS and/or SEN settings
* Is patient, nurturing, and able to build strong relationships with young children
* Has a good understanding of early childhood development
* Is confident supporting children with additional needs
* Works well as part of a team and takes initiative
* A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA) is desirable but not essential
