Position Overview:
Join our industry-leading field service department at Finning! As part of the in-frame team, you'll work across various sectors, showcasing your skills in on-site diagnostics and repairs for Caterpillar products, including CAT engines, generators, and components.

Main Job Functions:
In this role, you will:
* Respond to customer field repair and service requests, providing detailed diagnostics and solutions.
* Estimate arrival times based on job instructions and customer needs.
* Communicate with site management to ensure compliance with customer procedures.
* Diagnose equipment issues using specialized tools and collaborate with customer operators.
* Identify and requisition necessary parts for repairs, ensuring timely service.
* Perform repairs and service work on a variety of Caterpillar engines and generators.
Education and Experience:
* Valid LDV driving license.
* Formally trained (NVQ Level 3 preferred) with significant experience as a service engineer or equivalent.
* Experience with a range of gas and diesel engines and generators (both LV and HV).
Knowledge:
* Proficient in using field-based diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Experience with assembly and disassembly of diesel engines and components.
* Familiarity with Caterpillar large engines (e.g., 3400, 3500, 3600 series) and MWM, MAK series.
* Formally apprenticed (NVQ Level 3) with significant workshop experience or equivalent.
