Leeds Trinity University is a renowned institution located in the heart of West Yorkshire, dedicated to providing a transformative educational experience. With a rich history dating back to 1966, we have grown into a dynamic and inclusive community that champions academic excellence, personal growth, and professional success. We offer state-of-the-art facilities, a supportive environment, and a strong sense of community, making it a great place for students and colleagues to thrive.
Within the expanding School of Health & Life Sciences, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative and high-performing Technician to support a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as research and knowledge exchange activity. The successful candidate will provide technical, learning and research support to students and staff across sport, exercise, health sciences and related areas.
This will include group and one-to-one support, on campus and occasionally online, for laboratory-based learning, including contributing to the development of online learning resources. The role also involves maintaining a high-functioning sport and exercise laboratory, a movement analysis suite, and a sports therapy and rehabilitation clinic used by staff, students and external partners. The postholder will also contribute to staff training in the safe and effective use of specialist laboratory equipment.
Applicants should hold a degree in sport and exercise science, health science or a related discipline, and ideally hold (or be working towards) a relevant Master’s degree. Experience aligned to the person specification is essential. The role is 35 hours per week, and some flexibility, including occasional evening or weekend work, will be required to support laboratory activities and outreach.
The postholder may be able to study for a relevant part-time PhD at Leeds Trinity University, with the potential for a fee waiver subject to a successful application and availability of supervisory expertise.
This role is campus-based at Leeds Trinity University, Horsforth, and requires a consistent on-site presence to support day-to-day laboratory operations and student learning.
