About The Role
This role is for someone who wants to operate at the centre of a listed organisation's financial performance, shaping the insights that guide strategic decisions at the highest level.
The Group FP&A function is the organisation's strategic lens — transforming financial and operational data into the intelligence that drives direction, performance, and value creation. This position offers rare proximity to senior leadership, the Executive Management team, the Board, and Investor Relations, placing you at the heart of the Group's most important conversations.
Reporting to the Group FP&A: Head of Reporting & Data Insights, you will play a pivotal role in delivering clarity, challenge, and forward‑looking analysis across the Group's planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
Your Impact
Strategic Planning & Forecasting
1. Lead the coordination and consolidation of the Group's budget, forecast, and long‑range plan.
2. Review divisional submissions with a critical, commercial lens, ensuring alignment with Group strategy.
3. Shape scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis to illuminate risks, opportunities, and strategic choices.
4. Drive consistency of assumptions, timelines, and outputs across all business units.
Performance Insight & Executive Reporting
5. Deliver incisive analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance.
6. Interpret variances against budget, forecast, prior year, and market expectations.
7. Surface the trends, drivers, and insights that matter — and articulate them with clarity and precision.
8. Craft high‑quality commentary for senior leadership, the Executive Committee, and the Board.
External Reporting & Market Alignment
9. Ensure internal FP&A outputs align seamlessly with externally reported results, guidance, and disclosures.
10. Partner with Investor Relations on results presentations, analyst materials, and market engagement.
11. Maintain a strong understanding of analyst expectations, consensus, and peer benchmarks.
Business Partnering & Influence
12. Act as a trusted partner to divisional FP&A teams and senior stakeholders.
13. Provide high‑quality analysis that informs decisions, challenges assumptions, and elevates performance.
14. Champion best‑practice FP&A processes and performance management across the Group.
Governance, Controls & Continuous Improvement
15. Uphold robust financial governance, controls, and auditability across FP&A processes and models.
16. Drive enhancements in planning, forecasting, and reporting — including automation and system improvements.
17. Contribute to building a high‑performing FP&A capability across the organisation.
What You Bring
18. A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA / CA / CIMA / ACCA).
19. Has established solid PQE within data analytics, transaction services, or another insight‑driven analytical setting.
20. Experience gained within a leading professional‑services environment known for high‑quality, rigorous financial analysis.
21. Confidence operating independently and delivering directly to senior stakeholders.
22. Strong understanding of financial statements, performance metrics, and value drivers.
23. Advanced Excel capability, including complex modelling and scenario analysis.
24. A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to distil complexity into clear, actionable insight.
25. Commercial awareness and an understanding of how financial performance links to strategy.
26. Comfort working with ambiguity and managing multiple priorities.
27. Exceptional attention to detail and a natural drive for continuous improvement.
28. Clear, confident communication skills — able to make the complex simple.
