Are you an aspiring School Mental Health Assistant looking to make a real difference?

Have you recently graduated with a degree in Psychology, Criminology?

We are working with a fantastic SEN school in Luton that is seeking passionate and driven individuals to join their team as a School Mental Health Assistant. This education and training role involves supporting children with a range of complex needs, including social, emotional and mental health challenges, ADHD, autism, Down syndrome, and speech and language difficulties.

Job Title: School Mental Health Assistant

Location: Luton

Sector: Education and Training

Salary: £460-£500 per week

Start: Immediate or September Start

Contract Type: Long Term (Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm)

This Luton role is a brilliant opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in mental health, education, youth justice, or social care. You'll work closely with therapists, teachers, and pastoral teams in the education and training sector - offering a unique platform to move into clinical or educational specialisms, and ideal for those considering further training or postgraduate study.

This role is perfect if you are:

* A Psychology or Criminology graduate with a passion for SEN
* An experienced Teaching Assistant looking for career development
* Interested in the foundations of clinical or educational psychology
* Keen to pursue a career in youth work, youth justice, or mental health services
* Committed to supporting young people with additional needs

What we're looking for:

* A relevant degree (Psychology, Criminology, Education, or related fields) OR substantial SEN experience
* A strong interest in mental health and neurodiversity (e.g., autism, ADHD, SEMH)
* A solid understanding or willingness to learn about behavioural and emotional regulation
* Someone who lives locally to Luton or surrounding areas
