We are looking for an experienced Dietetic lead to join our friendly and supportive team as a Service lead for Acute Nutrition support to provide 12 months maternity cover. You will work closely with our acute Dietetic leads, CNS nutrition nurses, professional practice nurses and Malnutrition strategic lead to ensure Malnutrition is a key priority embedded operationally across acute pathways Health Board wide.
Responsibilities
* Manage a team of Clinical lead Dietitians working in Acute Nutrition support Health Board wide.
* Lead on recruitment and development plans and workforce opportunities.
* Collaborate with consultants, senior nurses, pharmacy colleagues and procurement to embed Acute Nutrition support safely in practice.
* Develop, implement, and evaluate the development of Nutrition support teams HB wide to optimise patient care and safety in line with NICE Clinical Guideline 32 (2007).
* Set the direction of travel for Acute Nutrition support and pro-actively lead and support clinical leads with performance reporting.
* Promote workforce wellbeing and drive workforce opportunities for professional development using the pillars of professional practice.
* Highlight the work of acute Dietetics and contribute to innovation, transformation, and quality improvement.
* Share a caseload of complex patients on the 18 bedded critical care unit in collaboration with the clinical lead for Acute Nutrition Support (critical care) based in Glangwili Hospital.

Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge
* Essential: HCPC registration with a degree in Dietetics.
* Essential: Willingness to work towards a Master\'s qualification; advanced knowledge of Nutritional support and acute dietetics, national clinical guidance and emerging evidence base.
* Essential: Knowledge of evidence-based methodology to support engagement, improvement, and service planning.
* Desirable: Master\'s qualification; Member of the BDA; Member of PENG Specialist network or related BDA subgroup; Management/Leadership qualification; Motivational Interviewing qualification.
Experience
* Essential: Substantial postgraduate experience in team leadership and line management; multi-professional working; project/quality improvement work with demonstrable outcomes.
* Essential: Experience at a strategic level with engagement and influencing; significant clinical experience managing a complex workload with advanced clinical reasoning.
* Essential: Experience in research or clinical audit and translating new evidence into practice; experience in planning and delivering education and training.
* Desirable: Experience leading national work or professional networks; experience managing budgets/resources.
Other
* Essential: Ability to travel across the Health Board; flexible approach to service needs.
* Desirable: Welsh language ability (Level 1).
