Job Title: Registered Manager - Children's Home
Location: Wolverhampton
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
About the Role:
Our client, a well-established residential children’s home provider, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee their children's home. This role is ideal for a motivated and compassionate individual committed to delivering high-quality care and ensuring the welfare and development of young people in a residential setting.
As a Registered Manager, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the children’s home, leading and motivating a team of staff to provide exceptional care. You will ensure compliance with all regulations, working closely with the team to create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children and young people in your care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily operations to ensure compliance with Children’s Home Regulations and Ofsted standards.
2. Lead, manage, and support the care team, including recruitment, training, and development.
3. Ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people, providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
4. Develop and implement individual care plans.
5. Build positive relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.
6. Maintain high standards of record-keeping and case management in line with legal requirements.
7. Monitor home performance through audits, reviews, and performance management.
8. Manage the home’s budget effectively and provide leadership and supervision to staff.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a residential children’s home, with proven leadership skills.
2. Level 3 Children and Young People Workforce Qualification (or equivalent).
3. Knowledge of relevant legislation and Ofsted standards.
4. Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety protocols.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and make timely decisions.
7. Passion for working with children and young people, committed to their welfare and development.
Desirable Skills:
1. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
2. Experience preparing for and participating in Ofsted inspections.
