The Role:
Becoming an apprentice at Axis Europe is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and training. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, whilst learning on the job. You will be expected to attend school/college once a week as part of your apprenticeship.
Within this role, my you willgain an understanding of the core functions within the finance team, starting with Purchase ordering and progressing to purchase ledger, cash expenses and banking. There will also be opportunities to assist with new developments such as OCR invoicing within the finance team
Responsibilities:
Working alongside the Finance Controller, you will:
Purchase Ordering:
* Receiving orders by both telephone/E-Mail from operatives and processing accordingly.
* Processing orders electronically onto 3 different systems dependent on the operatives division.
* Taking details of goods required from the operative.
Purchase Ledger and Assisting with Cash expenses and banking:
* Monitor the Accounts payable mailbox and distribute invoices to the appropriate Purchase Ledger clerk.
* Analyse and distribute weekly hire reports to Contract/Divisional Managers.
* As well as the completion of other Ad hoc tasks set by Financial controller.

Skills:
* Educated to GCSE standard (English and Maths grade 4 or above) or equivalent.
* Good communication with staff and managers of all levels.
* Experience of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
* Interest in Finance and Accounting.
