Job Description:

VPG has a long history of innovation, specifically in precision foil resistors and foil strain gauges. This served as a foundation to expand into strain gauge instrumentation, load cells, transducers, weighing modules, and complete systems for process control and on-board vehicle weighing.

VPG has facilities and operations in 13 countries, with more than 30 sites and over 2700 colleagues across the globe. We recognize that our talented people are key to achieving our business aims.

We have a vacancy for an office-based Applications Engineer to play a key role in selling our company’s products.

The role:

The successful candidate will support the Sales team with customer inquiries, lead generation, and overall division growth.

Key Responsibilities:

* Raise sales quotations in response to customer requests and from external Sales Managers.
* Take ownership of quotations and follow through to conclusion, including necessary follow-up actions.
* Respond to customer inquiries on a technical level via phone, email, and other sources to support sales.
* Ensure all daily processes are completed accurately within tight timelines.
* Provide prompt responses to customer queries related to Gauge Selection, Accessories, Instrumentation, and Bonding activities.
* Act as the customer’s voice within the business, aiming to exceed expectations and develop relationships.
* Own arising issues, ensuring investigation and timely resolution.
* Engage in Business Development activities from lead generation to closing or handing over to external sales managers.
* Identify market opportunities and target accounts and sales prospects.
* Support external sales managers with leads, opportunities, and appointment setting.
* Maintain customer databases such as QAD and CRM.
* Prepare documentation in line with customer and internal expectations.
* Proactively engage with non-trading, existing, and potential customers to support sales activities.
* Follow industry trends, standards, market insights, and innovations to advise the sales team and expand offerings.

* Support customer relations and develop relationships.
* Own issues and ensure resolution.
* Engage in business development activities.
* Identify market opportunities and support sales efforts.
* Maintain customer databases and generate reports.
* Support external sales activities and stay informed on industry trends.

Region: Europe

The ideal candidate will have a degree in electronics or mechatronics or at least two years’ experience in a technical sales role within a B2B manufacturing or distribution environment. Good knowledge of strain gauge technology and data acquisition systems is a plus.
