In Stockport, we are looking for social workers with passion and drive who are dedicated to supporting children and their families and who want to work in a relational model of practice.
We are lucky to be able to offer our social workers a breadth of different experiences, with our localities working from the point of initial referral to stepping a family down. This means our social workers will often work with families at the point of Child in Need (TAC), Child Protection and also within court proceedings.
To support our social workers with this, we have teams with experienced leader, and a dedicated social work workforce development team, providing reflective and clinical supervision and we also offer innovative support services for families, which have been praised by the DFE including New Beginnings and Comma.

* We have an extensive workforce development programme which offers an introduction to restorative practice, training around working with SEND needs and regular protected time to complete CPD. All our social workers are offered a yearly professional development review (PDR).
* We ensure a strong induction for our social workers, with a gradual increase in caseload and complexity of work.
