Job Title: Infrastructure, Governance & Improvement EngineerLocation: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular roleSalary: Circa £50,000 depending on experienceWhat you’ll be doing:Delivering the Site Engineering Transformation programme & managing the scheduleDeveloping and executing strategic plans to enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologiesDriving standardisation and optimisation of infrastructure engineering practices across departmentsEstablishing performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting frameworks to track progress and impact of initiativesLeading a small team of engineersYour skills and experiences:Essential:Nationally recognised higher qualification in a STEM subject (or equivalent through experience), coupled with demonstrable line management capability.Proven experience in driving improvement and operational excellence, with expertise in Lean/Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred) or other improvement methodologiesAbility to develop and maintain complex Excel models, dashboards, and automated reporting from multiple data sources, leveraging advanced formulas and functions, with high‑level analytical and problem‑solving skillsDesirable:Eligibility for or attainment of Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with clear route to attaining Chartered Engineer (CEng) statusISO 9001, 14001 or 45001 Lead Auditor QualifiedBenefits:As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Site Engineering Governance & Assurance team:Join our Site Engineering Governance & Assurance team and step into a role at the forefront of transformation across BAE Systems and the AUKUS programme, you’ll help deploy critical processes and gain exposure across all components within Site & Facilities.
