We are looking to recruit a Works Engineer who will Manage the engineering function of the site for their site.
Main responsibilities:
1. Communicate with the site manager about projects, problems, health and safety, budgets, etc.
2. Manage the engineering function for their site
3. Manage Staff under them (where applicable)
4. May be required to work at other Sites from time to time
5. Repair all equipment on site (if unable to liaise with the Area Engineering Manager and Site Manager)
6. Provide a monthly written report to the Area Engineering Manager for your site
7. Liaise with the Area Engineering Manager on projects, budgets, significant problems, PPM & Health & Safety
8. Report all dangerous accuracies to the Site Manager and Area Engineering Manager
9. Attend call outs, sometimes as part of a rota but depending on manpower sickness and holidays
10. Rotas are not fixed and from time to time are open to change
11. Control Engineering Budget for said sites
12. Control Engineering Permit Systems
13. Control Planned Maintenance Systems
14. Ensure engineering complies with Bodycote Health & Safety procedures
15. Ensure Statutory Requirements and inspections are carried out
16. Carry out risk assessments and safe systems of work method statements
17. Ensure the site complies with Bodycote Computerised Maintenance Management System
18. Carry out all planned & predictive maintenance tasks on time & accurately
19. Log all non-conformances, faults & errors into the Computerised Maintenance Management System
20. Assist the Area Engineering Manager with projects for your site
21. Advise areas where you or site engineers require training
22. Ensure there is sufficient engineering cover at all times, including holidays and periods of absence (where reasonably practicable)
23. When requested attend any of the UK sites to aid the site engineers in major reactive tasks
24. React if there is a problem during break and lunch (Reschedule break/lunch)
25. Stay after normal hours if contractors are working on site or there is a problem
26. Ensure all contractors working for you have up to date public and Personal Liability Insurance
27. Ensure all contractors working for you are using correct PPE for the site and task
28. Ensure all contractors are aware of Bodycote site specific Health and Safety procedures
29. Ensure all contractors follow Bodycote permit system
30. Ensure stock levels are maintained on site (Site Manager’s discretion when components are ordered)
31. Ensure purchase requests are raised for all spares requested
32. Record in a monthly report when stock is not ordered due to Site Manager’s recommendations
33. Ensure spare equipment is maintained in good order and repair promptly (Site Manager’s discretion when repairing spare equipment)
34. Record in a monthly report when spare equipment is not repaired due to Site Manager’s recommendations
35. Expenses claims are to be approved by your Area Engineering Manager
36. Wear personal protective equipment provided by the company
37. Ensure a high level of communication to employees, managers & colleagues
Qualifications, experience and skills:
38. HNC/HND or equivalent in engineering preferred.
39. Multi skilled
40. Self-motivated and driven
41. Excellent communication skills
