We are excited to invite applications for a Technical Manager to lead and develop a growing design engineering team in the Hampshire region. The Technical Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping an innovative, skilled engineering group focused on designing cutting-edge electronic products and assemblies. This Technical Manager role offers significant influence over all engineering activities, with opportunities to progress further into senior leadership positions. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and develop the UK Design Engineering team across multiple disciplines, including Mechanical/3D design, PCB layout, embedded/system software, electronic design, and test systems * Own the delivery of all design engineering content for custom and standard products, ensuring quality and timely sign-off of team outputs * Act as the technical lead in creating product requirement specifications and liaising with customers * Provide technical support and input to sales teams during product proposal development * Drive continual product improvements using the latest technologies to maintain market leadership * Collaborate with manufacturing teams locally and overseas to support smooth product transitions to full-scale production * Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team * Work closely with Project Engineers and Technical Director to plan realistic project timelines and ensure adherence to schedules * Manage team personnel matters including appraisals, pay reviews, and leave requests with support from senior management * Contribute to formulation and implementation of design processes and quality management systems * Be prepared to get hands-on with electronic design and software development as needed Requirements: * Proven team leadership experience in a technical environment * Strong expertise in embedded software (C programming), analogue and digital electronic design * Commercial awareness and understanding of product development lifecycle * Experience or interest in ultra-low power design, battery management, sensor interfacing, wireless communications, USB, I2C, and switching power supply design is a plus If you’re ready to lead as a Technical Manager in the Hampshire area and drive innovation in a fast-paced engineering environment, we encourage you to apply
