The Post
With the creation of brand-new team, we are excited to offer a unique opportunity join our newly established Governance and Compliance team within the Pensions Administration Section. This is an exciting role within a progressive team committed to delivering exemplary pension services and fostering continual improvement. As part of this team, you will be responsible for interpreting LGPS regulations, supporting administration services, developing and conducting staff training programmes, maintaining compliance and data integrity, testing benefit calculations, and enhancing administrative processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy across our pension offerings.
The Team
East Riding Pension Fund, based in Goole, administers the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for the four unitary Authorities in the region (East Riding of Yorkshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire), plus over 340 other local employers and organisations. It has a membership of more than 130,000 active, deferred and pensioner members.
The Candidate
We are looking for a dedicated Pensions Officer who possesses significant expertise in pensions administration, regulatory compliance, and staff development to become part of our Governance and Compliance Team. The successful candidate will demonstrate resilience and determination in overcoming challenges, thereby contributing to the effectiveness of the section. Strong organisational abilities and adaptability are essential, alongside confidence in delivering training both in-person and virtually.

Candidates must thrive in a dynamic environment where meeting deadlines is critical. Initiative, effective workload management, and excellent communication skills are essential to maintain our high standards of customer service.
Our section utilises an IT-based LGPS administration system in conjunction with electronic document management (EDMS), workflow monitoring tools, and Microsoft 365/Office applications. Strong IT proficiency and a solid educational background in Mathematics and English are required.
We support hybrid working arrangements, facilitating employees to balance professional and personal commitments. New team members will undergo comprehensive training based at our Goole offices before transitioning to a flexible blend of office and remote work.
