We’re on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support at our brain injury rehabilitation residential service in South Shields, Cleadon Court. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new service with a dynamic team that supports a fantastic group of people. Our brain injury rehabilitation service will bring a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same. You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing activities. One day you could be supporting with physical or speech and language exercises; the next you could be supporting to build confidence out and about in the community. This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone’s life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.
Responsibilities
* Support individuals with learning life skills, personal care, accessing local communities, socialising and participating in activities.
* Encourage participation in physical activities or speech and language exercises as part of rehabilitation goals.
* Promote confidence and independence to help people achieve their personal goals.
* Provide hands-on, person-centred support in a brain injury rehabilitation setting.
Qualifications and requirements
* Right experience and values: passionate, proactive and positive in approach; preferably previous experience with individuals with acquired brain injuries.
* All applicants and subsequent job offers will be subject to satisfactory DBS checks and references.
* Some roles require male or female employees only, where indicated, as a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Salary: £12.22 per hour
Typical shifts: Monday to Sunday, 8:00am – 3:00pm; 3:00pm – 10:00pm; 10:00pm – 8:00am
