National Highways has an excellent opportunity for a Network Planner - Resilience to join our team in the Midlands region. The Network Planner will focus on planning for events that potentially affect the strategic road network, as well as winter delivery and planning. The role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including emergency services, and attending local resilience forums.
* Develop regional resilience and contingency plans, such as winter, severe weather, and emergency plans, ensuring they follow best practices and incorporate intelligence insights, updates, and changes, assessing their effectiveness for all stakeholders.
* Collaborate proactively with regional Operations colleagues (e.g., Service Delivery and Scheme Delivery) and other internal and external stakeholders to optimize network availability and minimize the impact of planned and unplanned events on customers.
* Provide timely and accurate communication and updates to senior managers and stakeholders on issues related to winter, resilience, and emergency planning, including preparing management reports, debriefs, and lessons learned.
* Maintain and ensure accessibility of relevant information, documents, materials, service delivery manuals, requirements, and guidance for the wider regional teams.
* Prioritize health and safety for the team and yourself by identifying, reporting, and acting on unsafe activities or conditions.

* Experience in winter or emergency/contingency planning.
* Understanding of customer satisfaction drivers.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
* Experience in highway maintenance activities.
* Experience in producing operational orders for planned events.

External candidates will be offered a starting salary at the lower end of the pay scale, while current employees will be appointed according to our pay policy.
